Vail Laughs Clean Comedy Show

Featuring

Travis Thurman & Danielle Williams

Saturday, October 7, 2017 – 7:00 pm

Vail Laughs

Vail Laughs is based on one simple idea:

Clean comedy for a good price.
Entertainment standards have definitely shifted over the years. As the world keeps moving faster, it takes more energy to get our attention in the noise. Unfortunately, much of our entertainment uses shock value and other cheap antics to get it. It’s almost a celebration of being rude and insulting, bringing the audience down right along with the entertainers.
But life is funny enough without having to be vulgar!
Think about this:

We drive to the gym so we can walk on a treadmill. We carry these high tech devices in our pockets, the knowledge of all the world at our fingertips and we use them to send each other videos of screaming goats. Or the irony of reaching adulthood and discovering our parents actually had a point about naps.

What a strange bunch of creatures we are!

Our award winning comedians are as committed to this ideal as we are, bringing you quality entertainment month after month and leaving behind all the vulgarity and cheap antics.  Quite simply, it’s high quality entertainment you can bring your entire family to. The most important decision you have for the evening is whether to leave the kids or the babysitter at home.

Travis Thurman

Travis Thurman brings his triple-threat of entertainment to VailLaughs.  He sings, dances, acts and will make you laugh all night.

You might also recognize Travis from his local TV Spots from WB 6 to the Sweaty Circle K guy! Regularly seen in commercials that run non-stop in the Valley of the Sun.

He is not just a funny guy but a singer, dancer, actor and all-around entertainer. Thurman is a much in demand performer regularly headlining the Improv, Stand Up Live and opening for major acts at The Celebrity Theater.

He is an Arizona native who will have you busting a gut as he describes every town and neighborhood in and around Phoenix.   If you like music and you like the 80’s, sit back and laugh as Travis will take you back in time!

Danielle Williams

Danielle Williams aka The Comedy Diva, is a television host, radio personality and stand up comedian with a unique take on wearing wigs, becoming “Divafied” and her love of pop culture.  Danielle has performed throughout the Southwest  and  has opened for NBC’s Last Comic Standing top 10 finalist comedienne Aida Rodriquez, comedian Donnell Rawlings from the the Chappelle show and comedian Godfrey from Zoolander at Rick Bronson’s House of Comedy.  Danielle’s stage presence, comic timing and enthusiastic energy has made her one of the most sought after up and coming comics on the scene.

Have you seen her on TV?  Probably:  she auditioned for the producers of THE GAME SHOW network. They were looking for a new face to be the guest co-host on their day time talk show GSN Live. Danielle won the producers over and was personally picked by the shows host Fred Roggin going to Los Angeles and made her national television debut on April 23, 2009.

Currently she’s the host of Arizona Daily Mix on AZTV 7 & 13 which you can watch weekdays at 8 am.  She’s also a traffic anchor for I Heart Media covering local and national traffic reports.

James Reams and the Barnstormers

James Reams & the Barnstormers tread the terrain where bluegrass, old-time, classic country and folk meet in the night to swap stories. They feature driving rhythm and 3-part harmonies that take you back to a time before bluegrass was smoothed out for the uninitiated, the ill prepared or the faint of heart. The band includes James on guitar and lead vocals; Billy Parker on mandolin and harmony; Dick Brown on banjo and harmony; and Dan Meyer on upright bass.

  • James Reams has been a bluegrass bandleader for over 20 years. Coming from a family of traditional singers in southeastern Kentucky, James has played both old-time and bluegrass music since he was just a little sprout. James is known as an “ambassador of Bluegrass” for his dedication to and deep involvement in the thriving bluegrass and Americana music community.
  • Billy Parker brings passion and style to every set. A former member of the Southern CA band, Lost Highway, Billy has developed a confident and spirited approach to seamlessly move between the rapid-fire bluegrass tunes and more soulful melodies.
  • Tyler Walls who comes from a musical family, started playing music at a young age. He received a banjo on his fifteenth birthday and immersed himself in bluegrass music. In 2008, he won the Rockygrass Banjo Championship. He went on to take 1st place in the Arizona Banjo Championship that same year. Tyler did it again, winning the 2010 Huck Finn Festival banjo championship and attaining top 5 finalist status at the Winfield National Banjo Championship.
  • Dan Meyer has been playing the ultimate “out of the spotlight” instrument, aka the upright bass, since the 1970s. He has performed at the IBMA Bluegrass Showdown in Louisville and at bluegrass festivals across the Midwest. Holding down the bottom for the Barnstormers with his rock steady and intuitive bass stylings, Dan really lights up the place with his ready smile while laying down a smooth rhythm.
